Mr. Yasser Hareb

Writer and Media Professional

Yasser Hareb is an Emirati writer and media professional whose cultural contributions span the Arab world. He has participated in major international cultural forums, delivering talks at events such as the Frankfurt Book Fair, the London Book Fair, and the Bologna Children’s Book Fair.

He serves as a member of the Higher Committee of Human Fraternity, is the Co-Founder of the Abu Dhabi Forum for Peace, and sits on the Executive Office of the Muslim Council of Elders. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library Foundation. His efforts in promoting values of tolerance and coexistence have been recognized with multiple honours, including an award at the Social Media Influencers Summit.

Yasser has written for leading Arab newspapers and produced and presented several widely viewed television series, including Al Boom, Khataf, Creatures, and The Prisoner. He previously served in the Executive Office of the Emirate of Dubai, held the position of CEO of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, and served as the General Coordinator of the Arab Strategy Forum. He is the author of several books, including Picasso and Starbucks (2011), The New Slaves (2013), and Take Off Your Shoes (2015), the latter featuring an introduction by Brazilian novelist Paulo Coelho.

Yasser holds a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems from UAE University, is a graduate of the Mohammed bin Rashid Program for Leadership Development, and pursued executive studies at INSEAD in France.

He has presented approximately 240 television episodes exploring themes in social studies, culture, intellectual history, science, and technology, including the series Moment, Story of Enlightenment, and Story of an Idea.
