His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan was appointed as Minister of Information and Culture from 1997 until 2006. On 9 February 2006, he was appointed as Minister of Foreign Affairs. Following a Cabinet reshuffle in February 2016, he has become Minister of Foreign Affairs with the additional responsibility of overseeing international aids by the UAE and strengthening international relations.
