Dr. João Bosco Monte

Dr. João remotely manages the Gulf-Latin America Programme at AGDA. He holds a Ph.D. in Education from the Federal University of Ceará (UFC) and Postdoctoral credentials in International, Bilateral, and Multilateral Relations from the University of Brasília (UnB), with expertise in African continental integration, South-South cooperation, and international development.
He is the Founder and President of the Brazil Africa Institute (IBRAF), a twice-recipient of the Order of Rio Branco (2018 and 2023), Brazil’s highest diplomatic honor, and a published author on international trade, sustainable development and global governance. His career spans senior roles across Brazil, Africa, and the Gulf region.
