Dr. Christian Lequesne

Professor Christian Lequesne is a French political scientist and leading authority on European studies, diplomacy, and international affairs. He served as the Director at the Centre for International Studies (CERI), and as a Professor in the Department of Political Science at Sciences Po.
Over a career spanning nearly four decades, Professor Lequesne has held senior academic and research leadership roles in France and abroad. He was appointed Research Director at CERI and later served as Deputy Director before becoming Director of the center. He has also held international appointments with the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, including as Director of the French Research Center in Social Sciences (CEFRES) in Prague and as Technical Assistant at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Beyond his academic leadership, Professor Lequesne has served in senior governance and advisory capacities, notably as Vice-President of the Board of Directors of Sciences Po, in addition to contributing to several international scientific councils.
A prolific scholar, he has authored and edited a wide range of influential publications on European integration, diplomacy, and foreign policy.
Professor Lequesne holds a degree from the Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po) in Strasbourg, a master’s in European Studies from the College of Europe in Bruges, and a PhD in Political Science from Sciences Po in Paris.
