Dr. Tingyi Wang
Research Fellow
Dr. Tingyi was an Assistant Professor and Assistant Dean at Tsinghua University's Institute for International and Area Studies in China, serving from 2019 to 2024. He is a scholar of Comparative Politics specializing in Sino-Gulf relations, Arab Gulf States, and broader Middle East politics. His research explores foreign policy dynamics, offering valuable insights into regional interactions and geopolitical trends. Dr. Tingyi holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Arabic Language and Literature from Peking University, followed by a Master of Laws training, and completed his PhD in Political Sciences at Tsinghua University.
With an extensive academic journey, Dr. Tingyi has held prestigious fellowships and teaching positions worldwide. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Oxford, St Antony’s College, and has taught at Schwarzman College, Tsinghua University. His international teaching experience includes visiting scholar/professor positions at the University of Cambridge, the American University of Sharjah, the King Faisal Center, and Qatar University.
Fluent in Chinese, English, and Arabic, Dr. Tingyi regularly contributes insightful chapters to publications and continues to enrich the field of International Studies with his profound insights and dedication to fostering cross-cultural understanding.
