Programme Details
Overview
The Master in International Law, Human Rights, and Diplomacy programme (MILAD) is a one-year programme designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills in the areas of International Law, Human Rights, and Diplomacy.
The programme is targeted towards UAE nationals who are either working within the human rights field or are interested in establishing a career in this discipline.
The MILAD programme was initially accredited by the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) in August 2024.


For the 2024 – 2025 academic year, admissions criteria include the following:
- Being a UAE national
- Having graduated with a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with a minimum GPA of 3.0
- Have a minimum score of 79 on the Internet-based TOEFL (IBT) or a minimum score of 213 on Computer Based TOEFL (CBT) or a minimum score of 550 pm Paper Based TOEFL or a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 or expecting to receive one as soon as possible.
Completed applications are forwarded to AGDA’s admissions committee, which is responsible for reviewing and evaluating applications.
Candidates will be notified of their acceptance into the programme by end of June 2025.

- Cultivate students' critical thinking abilities and problem-solving skills, particularly in the context of human rights issues and international disputes.

- Foster connections and networks with experts, practitioners, and international organizations in the fields of international law and human rights.
- Promoting Global Justice and Human Rights
- Encourage students to use their knowledge and skills to promote positive change, uphold principles of justice, and contribute to the protection and advancement of human rights globally.

- Synthesizing International Law and Diplomacy Concepts
Coherently synthesize concepts, principles and theories in international law, human rights and diplomacy to deconstruct complex global issues
- Formulating Diplomatic Initiatives
Execute and formulate diplomatic initiatives that effectively address global issues, advance human rights, and promote the peaceful resolution of disputes
- Evaluating Human Rights Impact
Employ sophisticated evaluation methods to measure the impact of policies, interventions, and initiatives on the protection and promotion of human rights.
- Facilitating Global Collaboration
Facilitate collaboration among diverse stakeholders, manage complex negotiations, and guide teams toward achieving common goals in a global diplomatic context.
- Be a UAE national
- Have graduated with a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with a minimum GPA of 3.0
- Have a minimum score of 79 on the Internet-based TOEFL (IBT), a minimum score of 213 on the Computer-based TOEFL (CBT), a minimum score of 550 on the Paper-based TOEFL, a minimum IELTS score of 6.5, or a minimum EmSAT score of 1550, or be planning to take the exam soon.
