Ahmed Elsisi
Adjunct Professor
Ahmed Elsisi is Counsel at Sidley Austin LLP, where he advises sovereign governments on public international law and represents States, multinational corporations, and State-owned entities before international courts and arbitral tribunals. His experience spans proceedings before the International Court of Justice, the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea, and leading arbitration institutions.
In parallel with his legal practice, Mr. Elsisi serves as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Georgetown University Law Center, where he teaches International Arbitration in the Middle East, a specialised course examining the region’s arbitration frameworks and investment protection regimes.
Mr. Elsisi has held senior roles within prominent international institutions, including the Permanent Court of Arbitration, the United Nations Office of Legal Affairs, and the World Trade Organization. He also served as a Judge at the Egyptian Council of State and as Legal Adviser to the Egyptian Minister of Investment, contributing to investment policy reform, treaty review, and legislative development.
He holds advanced law degrees from Stanford Law School, the University of Turin, and Cairo University, and is a former Fulbright Scholar. Mr. Elsisi is admitted to practise law in Egypt and the State of New York.
