In June 1978, H.E served at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a diplomatic attaché.
1978-1981: H.E. served at the UAE Embassy in Tokyo.
1982-1985: Transferred to work at the UAE’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York.
1986-1990: Appointed as Deputy Director of the Arab World Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abu Dhabi.
1990-1995: Appointed as an Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to the Syrian Arab Republic.
1995-1998: Appointed as Director of the Gulf Cooperation Council Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abu Dhabi.
1999-2009: Appointed as an Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to the Islamic Republic of Iran and a Non-Resident Ambassador to the Republic of Armenia.
2009-2016: Appointed Director of the Department of International Organizations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abu Dhabi.
2016-2018: Appointed as an Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to the Republic of Turkey.
From August 2018 to 9 February 2021: H.E. Served as Assistant Minister for Political Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
On 9 February 2021, H.E. was appointed as Minister of State.
H.E. Khalifa Shaheen Almarar has represented the UAE in many international forums and participated in many bilateral meetings and meetings of regional and international organizations.
H.E. Almarar holds a Master degree in Political Economics from the New School for Social Research (NSSR) - United States of America in New York, and holds a bachelor degree in Economy & Business Administration from Sofia University - Japan
