Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Al Dhaheri is the Deputy Director General of Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy (AGDA), since January 2022. He is also the Director of Strategy and Future Department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), since December 2021.

Dr. Al Dhaheri’s key responsibilities at the Academy include AGDA’s strategy and planning procedures, such as, producing operational plans and work programmes of organisational units, assisting the Director General in producing and implementing strategic plans, as well as general policies.

As the Deputy Director General of AGDA, his role also includes assisting to shape, advance and drive the vision, mission and future direction of AGDA; liaising with senior leadership of various stakeholders in the UAE; assisting to initiate, maintain and strengthen links between the Academy and relevant professional and industry bodies; as well as assisting to maintain and enhance the academic standing of AGDA among diplomatic and foreign policy institutions, locally and internationally.

Dr. Al Dhaheri is a distinguished diplomat who has served in multiple positions in MoFAIC, since joining in 2018. From 2018 to 2019, he was the Deputy Director of the Policy Planning Department. From 2019 to 2021, he served as the Deputy Director of the Strategy and Future Department, before becoming the Director in December 2021.

Prior to pursuing a career in diplomacy, he served in the Ministry of Interior since 2010, as an officer. During his time, he spearheaded projects related to strategy and government policies as part of the Advisory office for the leadership.

Dr. Al Dhaheri holds a PhD in Management and Strategic Foresight (2021, London(; a Master of Philosophy in Strategy and Innovation (2019, London(; a Master in Diplomacy and International Relations (2019, AGDA); a Master in Human Resource Management and Development, (2012, Manchester); as well as a Bachelor in Software Engineering (2011, Manchester).

During his career, Dr. Al Dhaheri was member of several committees within the UAE government. He holds multiple certificates, including EFQM Certified International Assessor; Internationally Certified PMP; Six Sigma; Investors in People Training, as well as in Knowledge Management. He is also a graduate from several executive courses in the field of leadership, including the Impactful Leaders Programme, from the Mohammed bin Rashid Center for Leadership Development (MBRCLD); Executive Leaders Programme, from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO); and the Executive Programme in International Relations and Diplomacy, from AGDA.
