H.E. Dmitri Trenin
Director of the Carnegie Moscow Center
Dmitri Trenin has served as Director of the Carnegie Moscow Center since its conception, and also chairs the research council and the Foreign and Security Policy Program.
From 1972 to 1993, Trenin served in the Soviet and Russian Army, where he was one of the members of the delegation for the US-Soviet nuclear arms talks from 1985 to 1991. Trenin held position as a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Europe in Moscow as well as also holding senior research fellow at the NATO Defense College in Rome in 1993.
Trenin graduated in 1977 from the USSR Military Institute of the Ministry of Defense and in 1984, received a PhD in history from the Institute of U.S. and Canadian Studies of the Soviet Academy of Sciences.
